I've found the perfect MacBook Pro Bag!!

Lol, Geocities is awful, i'm uploading to image shack now!

That would explain the "add to cart" button on the US site:

http://www.crumplerbags.com/Cart/index.php?catId=5

The US site seems to have different names for the UK bags. It looks like the "Beer Back" and "King Single" are the 17" and 15" backpack bags equivalent to the UK bags referenced in this thread.

The US also has a where to buy link - it's right next to the "Check Tech Specs" link on the lower half of the page link above.

I think you missed something?

the king single looks a little different than the base toucher right? or is it just me...

Lol, i'm tired!

Are you sure the "Beer packer" et al. has the sleeve??

Some don't though.

Thanks!

The links seem to be working now!

No, that's not the same bag.
I think you should find a shop that sells specificly "base toucher" as that one is different. i.e. not a laptop bag

Yeah, that looks nice!

Not as "swish and curvy" on the front as the Crumpler, but still nice!
Laptop sleeve looks about the same.

Did you get the photo's this time?

I bought from these guys about 3 years ago (nice personnel). I got the backpack that fit the 17" PB. This is an awesome bag. The material is top notch and lots of storage...

The 17" bag used to be called something else but know it is called the Crue Beer Back. The style on this is close to mine but quality hasn't changed.

I have a crumpler bag for my 12" PB and I like the quality but is anyone else bothered by how loud the velcro is? I mean, when I open the bag, everyone hears it, there's no way to open it and try to be quiet.

If you ever need to open your bag without making a LOT of noise (like in class, in a library, anywhere you don't want to draw attention to yourself) don't get a crumpler.
Yes it does kind of annoy me. I just try to open it slowly, or wait until there's talking going on or something.

My bag is massive and really really heavy but I need the extra space I sometimes have to take lunch to uni and put a lunchbox in my bag. That bag is really cool though

I try to do that too, but sometimes I don't think ahead and riiiiiip the velcro open as fast as I can...and it wakes my kids up from sleeping

to all who have these bags, how well does the macbook fit the detachable sleeve? is it loose on the sides?

My brother's 17" Widescreen Sony laptop fit's ace!

Nice and snug. I havn't tried a Mac yet. as i don't own any as of yet. I hoping for a Merom MBP 17" nxt Tuesday

Yeah, i'd be interested in knowing that too. I think i'm going to go with a Crumpler, just uncertain whether the Sheep Scarer will be too small after i put some books and other stuff in with my Macbook. Or whether i should opt for a bigger backpack and go for the Base Toucher of the Team Player??
Someone must have a Crumpler and a Macbook?! :D

There are three sizes of this model bag. You'd probably want the smallest one.

there is a substantial increase in price from the sheep scarer to the base toucher, making it way overpriced.

I'm planning to get the sheep scarer for my macbook. the problem is that I want to upgrade to the 15 inch macbook pro in two years and give the macbook to my sister. but according to the dimensions of the sheep scarer, the macbook pro won't fit. DAMN! so I have to buy a base toucher...which costs more.

does anyone have a sheep scarer and 15 inch macbook pro?

the sheep scarer sleeve is only a TIINNYY bit smaller than the macbook pro. any possibility that I can just stretch the sleeve and forcibly push the mbp in?

macbook pro 15 inch dimensions
# Height: 1.0 inch (2.59 cm)
# Width: 14.1 inches (35.7 cm)
# Depth: 9.6 inches (24.3 cm)

Sheep Scarer: 24.5cm, 35cm, 3.5cm

difference is the width (.7 cm)

hey danielbriggs, where did you get the measurements for sleeves?
do you think they're accurate?

Hi!

Sorry for the late reply, i've been on my hols!

Anyway, I would go for the bigger bag if you can afford it.
I got the sizes from the crumpler site, and i've just put a 15" laptop in my bag (biggest) and it fit's nice, just a bit baggy, so yes it will fit a sheep scarer, but it might be a bit tight, so i'd go for the middle base toucher to play it safe, as that should have a really nice fit, not to tight or saggy.

Thanks!
