I've managed to delete my applications folder

Help, I've managed to delete my applications folder by mistake, how do I retrieve it??

Do you have an active Time Machine backup? This would be an opportune time for a restore. -GDF

If all of your apps are gone then I would take your Mac to the Apple Store right away.

No all the programs are still there, I've just deleted the application folder in finder.

Everything works fine, it just takes me ages to find programmes

so you just deleted the shortcut? Try searching spotlight, your application should be a folder on your hard drive, this can be dragged to the dock for a stack or to the sidebar for an easy access shortcut, good luck and let me know if I've misunderstood.
