Not sure how Avenza PDF Maps escaped my eye, but thanks for pointing it out! This is absolutely amazing! It looks like all the USGS 7.5min topos are available for free. I'll be spending a lot of time looking this over.

    Regards,
    Tom
p.s. Not sure when you find time to sleep, but between this and your info on video, your posts here are very much appreciated!

    Avenza PDF Maps

    Hi Guys.
So as Menneisyys2 indicated there will be a revised post coming soon regarding the original "bad bug" posting. Without getting into a lengthy and complicated explanation, the issue really is not a bug but rather simply an issue related to the concept and science of how geospatial documents are georeferenced. So please look for that in the coming days.

TJ61, thank you for you very kind comment about how the Avenza PDF Maps app looks amazing. :)
The PDF Maps app and solution is an all-encompassing solution for the use, distribution and sale of digital versions of paper maps to mobile devices. It includes both an app for users to use, discover and purchase maps directly from and to their devices as well as a backend store to facilitate the transaction and delivery of the maps.
Think of it like iTunes, iBooks or Kindle but for maps. :apple:
Geo-referenced maps may be uploaded to the system and made available for purchase in a fully electronic manner similar to the way in which music, videos, books and apps are currently sold and delivered.
We at Avenza are here to answer any questions you may have and we invite you to download the app from iTunes (although it seems that you have already) and peruse the map store. There are over 100,000 maps there already with more being added everyday including as you noted, all the USGS Topos. Many are free.
    Regards to all.
