KylePowers macrumors 68000 Dec 12, 2011 #7 Well the last 5 releases have been in different months: 2011 - May 2010 - July 2009 - October 2009 - March 2008 - April So maybe for 2012... June or August? Depends a lot on Intel though.

O old-wiz macrumors G3 Dec 12, 2011 #8 It's up to Intel as to when to release Ivy Bridge chips. I'm guessing after June 2012.

Latest estimates on CPU release indicate April. Apple has been known to take a month or two (or three) to release a product after the CPU releases - but they've also been known to get EARLY access, too. So it could be anywhere from March to June.

So February March or April 2012 is plausible. That's also assuming Intel is on schedule.
