what would cause this error? any help what to do?

Did you install the safari 3 beta? I had the same problem and noticed that in the font book, I only had 11 fonts installed. I am guessing either installing or uninstalling safari 3 did that. BTW, you should have around 111 fonts installed, so go check! 🙂

i have a 162 in font book.

Hrmm... Well for whatever reason you are missing those two fonts.
