Hey guys. . .I created a small website which I'm going to upload stuff to in the future. . .my problem is that even though I entered the right address etc it messed up the websites name and address :(

It should be http://www.aarononeill.com

Instead iWeb has made the site :

http://www.aarononeill.com/http___www.aarononeill.com/Welcome.html

Can anyone tell me why it added that stuff on the end?. . and how I can get the home page to be:

aarononeill.com/Welcome.html?

Cheers guys.

My understanding is it will always do that and you can not stop it. Mine does it but to be honest I don't really care (see below)

With iWeb it is impossible to have the short url that 99% of others have but you can still have a medium url if you use the tip from this video.

Apparently apple does not think that people like clean names for websites. Simple change for apple but they hold back. Because of this you will forever have difficulties with Google Pagerank. If it's personal then do whatever but if you want to have a successful business do what 99% of others do and learn html or use another web program.

Apple always holds back on the most vital parts.

Depending on where you purchased your URL from you could log into the web console of your provider and set it to mask so it displays your URL at the top.

Masking is good if it's a personal site and you just want it to look good. If it's a professional site and you require traffic from google to succeed then masking will make increasing your Google Pagerank extremely difficult.
