Hi everyone,

I am new to this site so if I ask a question that has already been posted my apologies.

I am NOT new to Mac's, but only started using iWeb about a year ago. It was an older version (v1.1.2) that was already on my (older) computer.

I built a small website for one of my son's activities, a local BMX race track. The software was fine for my purposes and there has been no need to upgrade.

I routinely backed up the actual site material, index files, content, etc... two weeks ago I had a major HD crash that required a low-level format to correct.

I was able to reload most of my programs including iWeb 1.1.2. However, I can not access the previous material... I was told I needed to reload the "domain" file, however that was not previously backed up.

Am I doomed to rebuilding the site? Or is there a trick out there I can try?
I am currently between jobs and do not wish to spend any money if I can avoid it (all the work is done on a volunteer basis, no expenses are reimbursed).

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Best Wishes.

If you have the site content backed up, determining what templates you used and rebuilding the domain file should be a LOT easier than doing it without the backups. If you don't want to upload one of the backups, and don't have the site online at the moment, I suggest this simple solution:

Put the most recent site backup in your Sites folder, in your user folder.
Enable Personal Web Sharing in System Preferences.
Go to your local site, which should be viewable.
Open iWeb, and reconstruct the site based on the backup, piece by piece.

I had suspected I would have to rebuild, just hoping for a trick. I did update the site one day before the crash, so it is current for now.

Thanks for the tips.
