why did apple get rid of iwork.com..it was great so I could share my pages documents between people to edit and add for our news letter...is there an alternative as sending a 176mb pages doc over email doesn't work to well...and dropbox cant do it either..

Not sure what you've tried with Dropbox but you ought to be able to send a link to the document to anyone.
I'm missing this functionality too. I use Wuala and Spideroak to share files, but it's not really a solution for collaboration, just pushing around files.
Let's hope we'll see iwork.com features showing up in iCloud.
