Hmmm...

It's not coming up free for me

I'm hearing that closing out of the Apple Store all together and going back in will show the apps for free. Another trick may be to sign out and back in to Itunes and App Store via settings then to check the store again. Good luck!!

I was in the car driving home from the Apple store when they showed up.
I quit because of no wifi.
Now I can't get them to show up again.

I have tried the restarting trick to no avail.

are you seeing full price instead of free? go to app store, search for those apps and you should see all of iwork apps as free.

Where are my free iwork apps?

Brand new 5s, iWork apps are not loaded natively, so I assume they'll be free in the app store.

Nope!

I thought new iOS devices would get these for free?

you must check on the App Store from your device they will be free on your 5s app store not on iTunes.

After you download them then do they appear on your iTunes App Store or is it ONLY available from the device? I'm just curious if I'll be able to get them on my iPad also or if I still have to pay separately.

Just went into apps made by Apple and Pages and Numbers are showing up full price.

I don't understand it.

Update.
I went to backup my phone so I could reinstall it thinking that would turn it on again and realized my phone was never registered.
I went ahead and registered, refreshed the app store and viola, they show up as free now.

Not sure why they showed up free when I first turn on the phone, then it forgets it.

Once you download them from your device they will appear as ''downloaded'' on iTunes so yeah you can sync them to any device on your account.

Yep this is correct.

The apps were not appearing for free on my 5S, until I did the following:

Closed the app store.
Then went to settings, selected app store - signed out, then signed back in

After that I could download them for free...

not free for me either...hmmm.

Are you searching for the apps by name? I had that trouble.

When I instead searched for "iwork" then the Pages, Keynote, and Numbers apps showed up as free. I searched for "ilife" and snagged iphoto & imovie for free as well.

Now that they're tagged in my account as Purchased, all of them are available on my ipad 3rd gen too. :)
