I got a few months old mid-2012 Macbook Pro. iPhoto, Garage Band and iMovie all were free to download. For iPhoto I just had to push ACCEPT button and then Install.

successful update

Given that the new iMacs were released just six days earlier on Sep 24, I do find it a bit odd that they chose the Oct 1 cutoff. My invoice is dated Sep 30 and it was delivered Oct 1. Ah well, but its nice that Mavericks is a free upgrade.

So, now I have installed Mavericks and all iWork updates showed up for free. A very pleasant surprise. I had iWork 09 before with all latest updates.

Invoice is dated September 30th and iWork apps have shown up as free under Purchases today.

Interesting. My Order Date is September 26th, but my Invoice Date is October 1. Nothing yet in my purchases re: iWork.

I'm still hopeful things will work themselves out shortly.

Are you signed in to the App Store with the iCloud account you used to register the machine?

I am. I've only ever had the one Apple ID, so hopefully there shouldn't be an issue there. 10.9, GarageBand, iPhoto and so on all show up there (I didn't have to pay for any of those).

Seems as though it's really just the iWork stuff that's not populating.

Wonderfull!
iWork, iLife and all others apps free for me!
After the update to maverick, one popup inform me to download the new apps.
Good job, Apple.

iWork would not show updates for me. iLfe was fine. Created new admin account and signed into App Store and voila, all the iWork updates showed up. Installed them from there, then logged off that admin account and deleted it. All was good when I signed back in to my regular admin account.

Success!

There! I received an email from the Up-to-Date support team, which linked me back to a coupon redeeming screen. Couple of clicks and Pages, Numbers and Keynote are downloading. :)

Nice work, Apple!

Just recieved my email too. Same thing. Thanks Apple!

I've ordered my iMac on September 25th, received my invoice on October 1st.
iWorks is not showing up as free in the app store.
I've tried the Up-to-Date program and got a response a few minutes ago.

We are unable to process your request for UTD for iMac because the product was not purchased within the qualifying time frame.

Not happy about this at all...

Ordered iMac 9/26 and delivered 10/4. Wish I would have gotten a screen shot but on the apple store, it said, "Mac computer purchased on or after Sept 1st will receive free update of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote!" Checked the Apple store an hour later and the "Sept 1st" was changed to "Oct 1st" so I called Apple.

Lady was nice but had no idea what I was talking about. Spoke with the manager and they decided to credit me $60 bucks back to my card so I could purchase the 3 for $19.99 each. Downloaded Mavericks and the all 3 (Pages, Numbers, Keynotes) showed up for free. Guess I'll use the extra 60 bucks on another program :)

Could my love for Apple products grow any more?!? Short of my wife and 1 of my two children, I love my new iMac more than anything! :D

Just to post my experience:

WHen I went into the appstore, garageband and iPhoto and iMOvie were all free to download. But Pages/Numbers/Keynote were all £14.99 each still.

However, I had a popup in the new mavericks notification bar saying that I had new purchases to download, and when i clicked on the "Show me" it took me to the purchases tab in the app store, and lo and behold - they were there ready for me.

I ordered my late-2013 iMac on September 24. It shipped on September 30. While iWork did not show up as a free download initially, it does as of tonight.

I ordered mine on the same date. Had an issue where it needed to be exchanged first week of October. Was unsure if I would qualify or not, then I did a fresh install of Mavericks tonight and sure enough all of the new iWork and iLife apps were available for free!

It is still not showing up in the app store for free...
Would a clean install help?

EDIT:
downloaded iWorks illegaly, updated through the app store on my Macbook Pro and now it is showing up as purchased on my late 2013 iMac.
They left me no choice. Others who purchased their iMac a few days later are getting it for free...

They left you no choice other than to steal their software, because you weren't eligible for a promotion / upgrade?

I'm not saying many wouldn't consider doing the same, but I imagine I'd not have quite the same sense of entitlement... ;)

I normally don't download software illegally. But this is crazy. A lot of people are getting this for free, even with the same order and invoice dates or they receive a $60 coupon to use in the app store...
Early adopters are being punished. That's what I'm saying.
Everybody with a Late 2013 iMac should be getting this for free... ;-)
