I write Japanese essay's often for Uni, they need to go Top to Bottom, Right to Left (Western English is Left to Right, Top to Bottom)
Just spent over an hour with Apple Tech, who were useless to say the least.
Any ideas on how to make the text go vertically>??

Sorry I should add (as you can see in the pic) while English characters do not rotate when turned Asian text does so that it is still up the right way. THe only help Tech gave was to text box it then rotate (Fine for English, not for Jap)

Since replying to old posts is my hobby:

I don't believe this is possible in Pages. Apple is generally slow to get anything Japanese done right, presumably reflecting a lack of quality Japanese employees at Apple. They get conversion wrong. They get text input wrong, like you're being frustrated with. They get handwriting recognition for Chinese right, it looks like, but then for some crazy reason don't allow Japanese input to use that technology for kanji. Basically, Apple doesn't understand the Japanese user's needs, which is a major factor in why Japanese are slow to switch.
