OK, so I bought Jaadu VNC at it's discounted price, and after a lot of trial and error, I finally got it to work. I'm not even sure what I did anymore, but I'm worried now that I've made my Mac "open" to hacking. Anyone know how secure this app is?

Also, when I launch the app now, my computer shows up in blue under "Saved Servers" -- but right below it, in "Discovered Servers," something else is showing up called "{ Active = 0;}" or something, also in blue. Anyone know what this could be? There's no way I'm clicking on it. It's kind of freaking me out!

    Jaadu VNC

The blue means you are using Jaadu Connect, which I'm assuming you downloaded and ran to establish your connection. Dark blue means you are on your LAN and light blue means you're accessing your machine outside your network - over the internet.

I'm not sure what your mystery server is? Is someone leaching your wireless connection? More likely is that it's a glitch in the app or some reference to not having an active Jaadu connection (based on what it says). I'm totally guessing. I just downloaded the app at reduced cost today, too.

Well the mystery server hasn't shown up again, so I'm assuming (hoping) it was just a glitch. My network is password-protected, so there shouldn't be anyone else leaching off of it. I'm still impressed by this app, but also still nervous about it.

I knew what the dark blue/light blue meant, I was just mentioning it for clarity. I'm not crazy how you have to have the Jaadu Connect app open all of the time, or that there's no way to hide the connect window without closing the app. My boyfriend works at home and so uses the computer more than me, but that means whenever he switches to his account he logs me off completely, therefore shutting off Jaadu Connect. And then it remains that way until I remember to turn it on again at some point. But that means most of the time I can't ever use the app! I guess it will be useful those times when we're away from home (provided I remember to turn it on!).
