God there expensive there its costs 79p here.

They're more like $4.00 but the fact is that they're 79p in the UK as you said. When I went to Leicestershire last fall I went to ASDA and found out how cheap these bad boys were. That and Curly Whirlys. OMG now those are the things you buy 5 at a time and eat 'em all. Maybe I shouldn't admit to it but I do.

There are online retailers willing to ship this stuff (they import from UK), but I prefer to support the most local british shoppe here where she also gets malt loaf and Cornish Patsy (though I don't eat it someone else does). That and the ginger tea can't be had here in it's most appropriate fashion so I spend the extra. Even still going there and seeing all this stuff for so cheap, even with the near 1:1 exchange rate I was still paying less!

Enough I'm now hungry.

Mmmmm Jaffa Cakes, yum!

Why is it that reading MacRumors always makes me hungry...

Jaffa Cakes? Oh sweet jesus Yes!

Although I'm not a fan of McVitties Jaffa Cakes. I know they're generally taken as the 'definitive' Jaffa Cake, but to me the base always seems harder than I would like, as if it was already slightly stale, even though its a fresh box.

When I was at uni in Edinburgh (where you will find the 'Huggabuga Jaffa Cake Appreciation Society International' or HJASI), my flatmates and I tried all the various Jaffa Cakes made by various companies, and we found Lyons to be the best in terms of the soft spongy-ness of the base and the zingy-ness of the orange bit, McVitties didn't even come close. We weren't fond of Burtons Jaffa Cakes at all - they were extremely bland. However, in recent weeks I have tried the more 'European' Jaffa Cakes sold by the supermarket chain Lidl (sold under the name 'Orange Cakes'). Best Jaffa cakes I've ever had! Slightly smaller than traditional Jaffa cakes, but the base is uber-soft and the orange bit is really intense. Fantastic!

Yes, I'm a bit of a Jaffa Cake Fanatic :p
