I have a iPhone 2G from day one. I cant see the benefits of Jail breaking it now. Are there any?

There are definitely advantages. A better question for you would be " are there any cons" and to that I don't think so. It seems most people do not want to jailbreak due to the fact that it voids your warranty (even though you can reverse the process and be undetected). That specific reason seems to be why most don't. Since you have an original iphone no worries....unless you bought the added protection plan. Did you? If not, then try it out. If you don't like it, you can always go back.
