Jail breaking with custom firmware

Hi, I'm on 7.1.2 iPad Air JB and want to upgrade to 8 as an app I need for work only runs on 8x
I was wondering if I could download 8.1.2 firmware and restore it then try to JB that? Will that work or do I have to wait until the 8.3 JB release?

Can't install iOS versions that Apple isn't signing. For iOS 8 it's 8.2.

thanks for the reply.. I tried it last nite didn't work obviously now stuck with 8.2 until the next JB. nice one...
