I am running the latest Windows 7 RC and at first I did not succeed using GeoHot's JB http://purplera1n.com/.

But with all things tech wise... Never give up.

To put in short and simple.

    1) Download .exe
    2) Plug in iPhone 3GS
    3) I closed iTunes(Dont know how much this matters... I just know the one time I had iTunes open I got an error.)
    4) Run the .exe and wait aprox 7 mins( Again... This was just me... I suggest waiting till atleast the pruplerain says done ~ waiting for reboot)
    5) After the 7 mins close purplerain and reload it and run it again.
    6) Geohot's logo comes up and about a minute-three minutes it reboots. Tada.
    7) Click on the freeze app and install Cydia. Once finished reboot your device and enjoy.

That's what this Saturday is all about in the states. Freedom. You are free to do whatever you want.

Me, I jumped on geohot's JB with 2 minutes of his twitter post.

Thanks for the post. Can you explain WHEN you wait for 7 minutes? If I click the exe, it says "Make it rain" in a box. Then I click the box and it crashes. Do I wait 7 minutes BEFORE clicking the box, or what? :)

What is crashing? the purplerain.exe or itunes?

7 mins is AFTER you click the "make it rain" button.

It goes into recovery mode once it does that I waited 7 minutes.

What Beta Windows 7 are you running?

I'm running RC1 via VMWare Fusion. As soon as I click "Make it rain," the app crashes. Very annoying...

Wow! That was FAST! Took less than a minute to jailbreak.

Worked perfectly the first time in Windows x86. Here's what I did.

    1. Disable UAC
    2. Right click the file > Run as admin
    3. Jailbreak!
