i just bought a 2nd hand ipad 2 32gb yesterday and its on 6.1.2 os and it is not yet jailbroken..

i want to jailbreak it but it has a lot of apps and games installed on it..
i know i cannot use the fresh restore anymore because it will force me to update to 6.1.3.

another thing is i dont know if it is updated through OTA or via itunes.

my question is what is the safe way to jailbreak it..

is it safe to do Reset>Erase All Content and Settings and then jailbreak it..
or just jailbreak it without uninstalling all apps and games installed...

Nope, if you throw that toggle, you will likely be forced to 6.1.3
Remove all the apps and games or create an empty profile to sync it to.
Then try your evasi0n jailbreak

@dhlizard i thought that only applied to jailbroken devices, on non-JBen device it just reset the device to factory settings without downloading anything

Yes, it should not happen, but if he ends up having to restore, he will be forced to 6.1.3
My original reply was not precisely worded
Just advising what I believe is the safest way.
