Correct, iCloud is just Like iTunes, it doesn't really know or care if the iDevice is JB or not, it will work just the same way.
Very cool. Thanks.
I am sure this is a non-issue. But are there any security concerns? Just thinking of my accounts and their passwords and I do use a banking app on my iPhone. How does a person ensure that nothing is collecting that sort of information? Are the JBs open source where someone could look over what it actually is doing? I would guess it isn't as they would want to protect their investment of time and effort.
I am reading up on Cydia so I will probably get my question answered.
Edit:
Ok, after some reading basically Cydia is an App Installer that is used to install apps on a Jailbroke iPhone?
To Jailbreak you basically (I am guessing, as I am still reading) update some libraries (for lack of a better word) that puts certain restrictions on the iPhone (such as forcing apps to come from the AppStore)?
All of the normal functionality is handled as normal parts of iOS?
The cool parts of a Jailbreak are basically other apps that replace certain "built-in applications" such as the notification center among of course the other productivity apps like OpenSSH etc. Cydia is just used to allow these apps to be installed?
My incorrect assumption in the past was that a Jailbreak was almost the entire iOS rewritten.
However, it might be easy for a unscrupulous programer to have an app and perhaps include a capability that could impact the security of personal information.
So just like one should be cautious installing anything on the computer at home, a jailbroken iPhone requires more vigilant awareness of what is installed.
Also, with JB do you lose any functionality with the Ecosystem? iBooks, Game Center, Find my Phone....
Please correct me if I am wrong on any count, as I want to be sure of what I do in the future in regard to this.
