Does a jailbroken Ipod touch ruin the warranty or is it only if they find out???

If you do a restore on it before you take it in, the warranty is fine. As long as they don't find out/can tell basically. 🙂

Make sure iTunes is updated to 8.1.1 do not update to 8.2, it disables restoring in DFU, and then you can try a different usb port.

Click on iTunes>About iTunes.

It said itunes 8 at the top and under it said itunes 8.1.0.52. Is that right?

Download iTunes 8.1.1 and install it.
