iPod touch Jailbreak on 1.1 ipod?

I have a week 38 ipod and a week 37 ipod which i have to retun. The 37 had a bad screen until i updated it and now it's perfect. The 38 had a beautiful screen out of the box. However i updated the week 38 and i am experiencing a really washed out screen. The nice whites and blues in the menus on the week 37(updated) ipod are now both grey(not pretty). I turned the brightness to the same level on both. So now onto the point of this thread. I jailbroked? jailbroken my week 37 and it is awesome. maps, mail, etc. But i want to be able to do this on my week 38 ipod. Is this possible(yet)? Has anyone tried this yet?

I don't know the answer but if it's the same firmware, it shouldn't make a difference as to what week the hardware is. I can't imagine that Apple is changing the firmware every week...
