Hello guys.
I bought an iPod touch [32gb] on summer and I have to admit that I can't live without it. However, I see many people talking about that "jailbreak" thing.
What I want to ask is whether that thing is safe or not. Does it worth using it or not? What are the pros and what are the cons of that ?
I heard that you can download almost every non-free application for free. Is that true?
P.S : If there's a thread that answers my question just post the link.
P.S 2 : I'm sorry for the "newbie" questions, but I am pretty much a big noob on using an Apple device.
Thanks in advance.

search works better
yes it's safe
tons of pros
only real con is you may end up having to restore your device to factory if it starts messing up
can't talk about piracy here
like i said, use the search.

if you know how to jailbreak properly and know which tweaks to install before anything else for security, you will never need to restore. ive jailbrokn my ipod 2g never restored it same with ipod 4g. to me there is no con about jbing just pros like custom keyboard 5 rows more icons in dock etc. if you love customizing your ipod then jailbreak. if you dont care about customization then you probably shouldnt since most things on cydia is customization. use redsn0w btw for ios 5.0.1 jb ipod 4g

I never said you WILL have to restore.... I said you MAY have to restore. As in, it might happen, it's a possibility..

and when you jailbreak you don't need to install "security" to prevent having to restore your device.

My personal experience is that the battery life takes a real hit, and it just becomes generally more sluggish. If you can live with that however, the pros of Jailbreaking will be worth it.

Well I think I can install it properly.
However, with a jailbroken ipod can I download non-free apps for free? That's my main question. Such as angry birds, fruit ninja etc.
Thanks for your answers!

That called pirating and stealing. We don't discuss that and if do we can get banned.
If that's your only motivation then I wouldn't jailbreak because there are pirated apps that can screw things up. But mostly I wouldn't because it's wrong.

Some people do install apps to see if they are good enough to buy. Once they figure that out they delete the pirated app and buy the official one.

If you do jailbreak don't ask how to do that around here. Just use Google and figure it out on your own

oooh I'm really sorry, I didn't know that. So what jailbreaking offers is just customizing your ipod, right ?

It's called piracy and is illegal.

That is correct. Themes, skins, additional features, modifications to current ones.
