I am wanting to jailbreak my iPhone but hesitate of something going south. Should I say screw it and go ahead and jailbreak or wait for OS 3.0 (and maybe then jailbreak?)

there is no really harm in jailbreaking now.. just do it now until 3.0 comes out then upgrade and jailbreak that. Simple.. enjoy it now and later.

I don't get the logic in waiting.

Jailbreak now (takes about 5 minutes), use what's made available until 3.0 is released then update.

I agree.

Even if everything you need is in the 3.0 OS there's no reason why you can't have it now, by jailbreaking, while you wait.

Jailbreak now, and jailbreak after 3.0. It's really not a risky or time-consuming thing at all. Just dive in.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

Wait for 3.0

I did the jailbreak today so I can use Slingplayer (and Skype) over 3G. I'll upgrade when I see what 3.0 brings and wait for jailbreak to be available. As a matter of fact, I may not upgrade to 3.0 until I know it's been "broken" and then upgrade.
