Hi Everyone! I just have a question for anyone who can answer this...

I originally had a iphone 4 which was jailbroken, it was running IOS 5.0.1, I sold it to someone and then picked up a iPhone 4s. I jailbroke this and someone had said that my previous apps on the iphone 4 would not be able to sync to the 4s. The 4s again is jailbroken with IOS 6.1 i think, however, I am very happy to say that it synced everything perfectly. My friend doesn't believe me, he says that it impossible. I know it's not impossible, just trying to see why he is so adamant that it shouldn't have worked. Any reasons why he thinks this? Other than he's a dweeb? LOL! Thanks for any replies...

If they were paid apps, those will sync since they are part of your apple id
If not paid, then you had ActiveSync app and we don't talk about that here

Could it be that the friend was talking about certain apps that worked on 5.01 that aren't/ weren't updated to work on 6.X... Cydia would even show something like "This app isn't compatible with your device...?" Thus you could no longer use/ install it on a device running 6.X I still have my old iP4 and noticed that many of the apps I had on that device running 5.01 aren't avaiable/ don't work on my iP5/ IOS 6.X

Like said before apps purchased in the appstore are tied to your appleID, if that is associated with your new device it will allow all apps tied to it to re-install.

For some JB apps you will have to mail the devs to tie it to your new device or like BiteSMS some have a build in capability to transfer the licence. A few JB apps need you to repurchase the app (yughh iBlacklist).

Since others have pretty much touched on the relevant points, I'm going with he's a dweeb. :p
