JailBreak Question

I want to jailbreak my 1.1.3 iPhone. I just had some questions.

1. After Jailbreak do I loose all my settings for the phone? What about contacts and such?

2. After Jailbreak do I still use iTunes to sync music, contacts, photos and such?
