My 8GB touch is being delivered by friday from target. I'm planning to jailbreak right out of the box. My only worry is if theres a possibility that apple releases a firmware that will brick the hacked touch in the future. Just like the iPhone.

What are the chances they purposely brick it or will they just force you to restore?

I WAS skeptical for a long time then I realized that restoring your ipod FLASHES the drives and then reinstalls the OS from scratch. i.e.... there is no chance that they would be able to tell if yours was hacked or not. Also, like the other commenter pointed out, as long as you arent a first mover with this, you should be good to go

Most jailbreaks are based on the 1.1.1 firmware which your iPod does not come with. Update, then jailbreak.
