Jailbreak Security - Root password

Ok I have done the following.

Saved 4.01 SHSH files
Jailbroke phone
Sync
Backup

I read that you need to change your root password. Is that still necessary? Anything else need to be done.

I saved 4.01 SHSH files from a 4.0 phone. I assume this is ok?

You should make a habit out of changing all default passwords for all devices that are connected to the internet.
