I am trying to update and jailbreak from 5.0 to 6.1.2 on my 4S.

Using the iClarified instructions I am using evasi0n to do the JB.

I start in iTunes doing the "Shift+Restore" and selecting the 6.1.2 firmware.
- I get error 3194.
- I defeat this error I use TinyUmbrella's TSS Server (I do have my blobs from
5.0.1 to 6.1.2

Using TinyUmbrella gets past the 3194 error, but now I am stuck at the 11 error.

I created a custom "ENTER_DFU" ipsw file using Redsnow. This seemed to get me further, but I still encountered the 11 error.

I did check the host files the and removed the apple related material.

I have tried this on two computers with different USB cords. I seem to be running out of options.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Thank you

Try stitching your blobs with redsnow and restore with redsnow.

This was an option I had read, however Redsnow advised me that I could not "Stitch" the 6.1.2 firmware...?

I aslo read it was not an option for the iPhones yet?

I am using Redsnow 0.9.15b3

There is no way to restore to 6.1.2, only 6.1.3 (the latest version) which isn't jailbreakable

Much bad info here ! (except the post directly above mine - we posted at same time)

You cannot do an iOS6 SHSH restore to anything but current firmware on a 4S.
Your choice is stay where you are or go to 6.1.3

Sad to read, but interesting.

If I upgrade to 6.1.3 am I at any risk at "bricking" or locking up my iPhone?

Am I at any risk at preventing future jailbreaking?

Further...If I was already on 6.1.2 I could do evasi0n to JB? But I cannot upgrade to 6.1.2 and JB?

My option is to goto 6.1.3 and await a JB?

Yea my bad. Didn't pay attention to the 4S. I'm still using a 4 and have that option, I assume. I stay with 5.1.1 personally cause of Siri and a few other reasons.
