To jailbreak an iPhone 3G on 3.1.3 you have to use Redsn0w http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=7443

LimeRa1n is for devices on 4.0.2 and higher. GreenPois0n is for devices on 4.1 only.

Spirit works too. Yes, the software works on either Mac or PC.

You're welcome If you use Spirit I think you need iTunes 9.x.x something. Redsn0w should work fine on 10.0.1
