Jailbreaking iPhone 3gS with Version 4.0.2(8A400)

Hi,
I'm wanting to jailbreak my iPhone and I'm wanting to know what the easiest way to do it.

Is it even possible at this time? Can someone please help me and show me how to do it step by step.

What do you think of UnlockIphoneUS.com? Has anyone heard if this downloaded software works?

I'm scared to try it!

No Jailbreaking available for 4.0.2 yet so you are out of luck for now...and why does unlockiphoneus.com a seemingly USA company have a UK premium rate phone number- smells like a scam to me!

Impossible with 4.0.2. If you can downgrade to 4.0.1 or older (google SHSH + downgrade), then you can.

And, those jailbreak and unlock sights are all scams. They make you pay for something you can get for free. Since no JB is out for 4.0.2, they are going to string you along until one is available by "promising it'll be out soon...". Don't fall for it and tell others you know thinking of using them.

I knew I should have left it at 4.0.1! ugh!

Is there anyway to revert back to 4.0.1 from 4.0.2?

That's why I was asking about this site..I wanted to see if any of you heard about it or used it.

As of this morning, Apple was still signing off on 4.0.1 installs. Move quick- download a 4.0.1 iPhone 3GS firmware IPSW, and restore to it in iTunes (option-click on the restore button and choose your IPSW, iTunes will validate it).

I went to following site to download what you told me to:

I went down to the bottom and clicked on the appropriate link to download it,then I went to iTunes(the latest version) and clicked Restore...

But I still have Version 4.0.2 on my iPhone.

What am I doing wrong?

I went down to the bottom and clicked on the appropriate link to download it,then I went to iTunes(the latest version) and clicked Restore...

But I still have Version 4.0.2 on my iPhone.

Stop writing in comic sans, my eyes Did you hold down shift (or option) and click restore then pick the firmware file you downloaded?

Also you should never pay for unlocks or jailbreaks, most of them are scams.

They're always free and those pay sites will never have stuff that the JB community doesnt offer for free.

Next time never update your JB iphone thru itunes if you plan on staying JB.
You always wait and research if there's a JB for the latest firmware before you update to official updates thru itunes.

When I click on the Cydia App it asks "Who Are You"?

Which do I chose?

Currently there is no way to get free apps from the app store or cracked cydia apps so I strongly suggest you don't waste your time trying.

I'm also trying to downgrade to 4.0.1 on a 3GS but getting error 3194.
Does this mean that Apple are no longer approving 4.0.1?
