iPod touch Jailbreaking Issues

Hey everyone. I upgraded my ipod to the newest IOS, and have been trying for the past two days to jailbreak it. I've tried all of the methods i have been able to find online, but i still can't get it. If i try using redsn0w 0.9.9b8 with the IOS 5.0.1 firmware file, it says the file isn't compatible with that version of redsn0w. Even though it was told that that exact file would in fact work. I even tried using the IOS 5.0 file with the same version of redsn0w, and it didn't work either. Then if i just try to jailbreak without any firmware file, i am told my build is an unrecognizable build. If someone knows how to fix this please let me know.

But instead of pointing it to the 5.0.1 IPSW, point it to the 5.0 IPSW.
