Jailbreaking probelm faced

sorry i need help can anyone tell me why i helped my friend to jailbreak the iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1 and i used limera1n and greenposi0n to jailbreak but both fail both had the same problem as both show its in DFU mode but please wait then it hang there for hours and green posi0n is keep asking me to try again after i follow the instruct on the screen for hold the home and power button together

Restore the phone and try it again.
Make sure you follow the directions when it comes to holding power and home etc...

Yea we did try again but cant ? erm does speed of internet matters ? because my school internet v slow.

Like Applejuiced says, try again. Putting a phone into DFU mode is difficult for beginners. This is why jailbreaking isn't for everyone.
