Today, I got my iPod Touch replaced by the apple store, and it came with firmware 1.1.3. So I downgraded to 1.1.1 like I always did, and then when I went to jailbreakme.com, not matter how many times I clicked install appsnapp, nothing happened. It usually crashes and says installing tiff......but no dice. I'm on 1.1.1 for sure, and I never had this problem with my old iPod.

it did not work for me at first either, i dont even know why i kept trying as many times as i did, but after (approx.) 15-16th time it worked, i dont know why or how or what changed, but it worked..lol:)

Any ideas??

I have a broken 1.1.3... can i use any of the apps to break to 1.1.4 without loosing my installed apps/data??? will the data be safe??

I'm under the impression that data has to be moved to a temporary directory, or reinstalled with any jailbreak.

The reason why it often takes a number of times is because TIFF exploits are always somewhat unreliable. Most often they will work within the first few times, but sometimes, you just get darn unlucky. It was exactly the same with installing Custom Firmwares on PSPs and using TIFF exploits. They just aren't 100% reliable.
