To add on: yes. I've jailbroken two AT&T 3G iPad 2s, each running 4.3.3, using jailbreakme.com. Easiest jailbreak I've ever done -- so easy that I thought it had failed until I saw Cydia and opened it up.

Unless you have a 4.3.3 blob saved (through tinyUmbrella), it's not possible for you to update to 4.3.3. Apple stopped signing that version weeks ago.
You chance of jailbreaking is close to zero. The only option you would have is to find a reason to return your 4.3 version to Apple and hope the brownbox replacement you get has 4.3.3 on it.
