jailbroken 3.0.1 iphone keeps losing wi-fi signal. help !!!!!

hey i just jailbroke my 16gig iphone 3g for google voice. but now my wi-fi signal keeps dropping. I cant download movies any more and or music videos and tv shows. does anyone know why ? I can only do light web surfing and some twittering....

This is what Apple says about jailbreaking and its possible consequences.

Unreliable voice and data: Dropped calls, slow or unreliable data connections, and delayed or inaccurate location data.

Of course, it's Apple's word so I won't take it at face value. At the same time, there may be some truth to it.
