Jailbroken 3.1.2 3G to iOS4?

Hi i've been googling and searching but it seems different versions of the software/phones/JB methods require different methods to upgrade to iOS4 and jailbreak it. And i'm having trouble finding what is the method for me.

I have a 3g that is on 3.1.2 and was jailbroken with blackrain. What steps must i take to succesfully upgrade and jailbreak to 4.0.

Step 1: Upgrade to iOS 4
Step 2: redsn0w Beta 0.9.5 -2
Step 3: if you need an unlock download the latest Ultrasn0w

This only works for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G

But not recommend till the final version of redsn0w is released which is in a few days hopefully

so i can upgrade my jailbroken 3g w/ 3.1.2 to ios4 via iTunes without any issues, and then re jailbreak it at a later date?

ya it will work and you can jailbreak it later

Ah, so don't try it with 3GS, right?

Would really like to play with the new toys of OS 4, but gotta have MyWi in my daily workflow, so will cool my jets and keep looking here...
