I've always liked Apple's version of gold phones. I bought my iPhone 7 in gold first, then switched to matte black. While I do like the matte black, sometimes I miss the gold.

As for the timing, why fault a company trying to drum up interest - its been months since the phone released?
It's a win/win in my book for both Apple and consumers as it may spurs sales and it will satisfy those who love the colour.

"a new color is that it could perhaps lure new upgraders during a typically sluggish mid-season" The color is not the problem with X.

Yes. I hate Apple for spending too much time on the iPhone and iWatch and not focus on making better computers. So I decided not to buy these two products.

Q3? So right when the 2018 model is launched? Okay...

I’m not dying for a new color, but since I still have a 6S it could entice me...but only if it were introduced at tomorrow’s event. Otherwise I’d just assume wait for the 2018 model...

Nah, I’ll stick to announcements being......refreshed, cheaper iPad tomorrow, new iPad Pro in June and new iPhones in October.

There is a BIG difference between Tomorrow March 27th and the end of the 3rd quarter! Someone is way way off on their prediction of the release date for the cheaper 9.7” ipad. Lol. My guess is that it will be announced tomorrow at the March event, just like the last regular ipad was. I imagine the ipad pros will be announced in June at WWDC just like the last pros were, but since this will be a radical redesign of the pros, it could be pushed until the 3rd quarter. Who knows. I haven’t seen any part leaks for the rumored bezel-less ipad pros with face ID and without a home button at all, and June is only a few months away.

Lol, so Apple thinks sales slowed down because it didn't come in gold. Wow...
Except Apple doesn’t think sales slowed down at all. No data supports that, only speculation. Look at the numbers for Q12018. These are facts.
  • 83M iPhones on 14wk
  • $800 ASP
  • $62B in iPhone revenue, up from $54B
  • $88.3B in revenue
  • $20.1B in profit
  • iPhone X best selling iPhone from Nov 4 through January (and probably still is, just no update from Apple)
Stop getting your news from rumors and “analysts” and start listening to the earnings calls.

Waiting on your facts.

I think the new iPad Pros could be announced as early as WWDC 2018. They would use the A11X version of the A11 SoC and will replace the Home button with Touch ID sensor with a new Face ID sensor. A new "regular" iPad with the A11X could come out later this year.
