Japanese vending machine studies what you look like

I was amused and intrigued to read about a Japanese drink-vending machine (see photo) that identifies your age and sex so it can make appropriate recommendations.

Here it is making a recommendation after it scanned the person standing in front of it:

I wonder if it guesses your age by your height.

I may need to venture down to Tokyo and see what it offer's me, as a Foreigner.

Probably a Coke or Bud beer.

This thing will become self-aware by the end of the year.

In Japan, vending machines is where all the innovations are happening No, seriously, there are millions there because there isn't much room for more shops.

a bit of makeup
long-ish hair

^ It does make you wonder what algorithm they use.

My plans to test the machine have been delayed.
