Problem is, I'm stuck at 45.5% downloading.

I am stuck at the same percentage. :(

Here's hoping someone will come on so I can finish and test.

Torrents are a way of hosting a files and are very helpful. If a server goes down, the files are gone but torrents are different. Multiple people host the file and if one goes down, the file will still be up.

The mods may not like the torrents but they are very helpful and if the torrent contains nothing illegal I believe it should be fine.

I might have found java 6 dp8 in a beta of leopard (9A559), torrenting the beta right now

Ah an ATI Radeon 9600, I was looking into getting one of those for my G5. Mines a 2.0GHz DP and has the stock Nvidia GeForce FX 5200, really needs an upgrade :D

sorry to revive an old thread, but did we ever solve the JRE 6 issue? I found a game I want to try on PPC but its only JRE6+...

Nah. I personally spent hours and hours at this on leopard on my G5. Trying to manually compile loads of different Java source files, and installing mountains of their party packages. Always get a tiny bit closer, but never enough to get w full blown Java 6 app to run...

I tried to compile it over the summer. I spent DAYS working on it but never got it to compile..

If it means anything, on my PowerMac G5 running Tiger with the Java 1.6 DP9 installed, I can open the latest Minecraft launcher. But after that nothing will load, any version. It'll download the files and etc but when it comes to launching the game it just quits.

Is it possible to cobble together Soylatte into a working MRJ? I really don't know if it can be done, but if anyone has more coding experience than myself (which is NONE!) I hope the could try.

What do you see after entering "java -version" at the command line?

"Soylatte is now officially a part of the OpenJDK BSD-Port project". When you click on "Mac OS X Port Project" and view the Wiki it lists the following requirements:
  • An Intel Mac
  • Mac OS X 10.7.3
