I get this window called "java console" in netscape and firefox whenever I'm running any java app in either of them. I can click close, but when i do it just minimizes. This is not the JavaScript console that you can open in the tools menu of firefox. It has a list of options in it - stuff like "c: clear console window" and "f: finalize objects on finalization queue" and i can hit the corresponding keys to do that stuff. Anyway, I don't know how to make this console window go away. I've checked apple prefs and the browser prefs and there is nothing.

Any ideas?

edit: sorry, this should have been in the software help section, not hardware help...

You may find that it's the Java Plug-in settings in /Applications/Utilities/Java that shows the Java console turned on. There are two...one for 1.3.x and another for 1.4.x.

I've included a screen shot of the 1.4.x version.
