Just ran Software Update and it found this Java Update...
Just got it myself. No restart required.
yep just popped up here.
Hmm, I wasn't able to download the first Java update a couple months ago, but I am able to download this one. I have a Core Duo MB...
I don't really know why, but I really enjoy installing updates! I think it's because I enjoy seeing version numbers go up.
From the looks of it Apple has moved from their own Java preferences to the Sun version of it. Screenshot:
Usually makes Safari somewhat snappier for me.
Me too. I have become a VersionTracker junkie, its pathetic. Oooo, shiny new Camino build
Then you may want to check out this widget for Dashboard if you have not already heard of it.
Thanks for the heads up!
Installed update, no problems here.
For some reason I am unable to install this Java update. My internet connection is working like normal... I have restarted twice. Any ideas?
This is the error message I am receiving.
"The update "Java For Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2" can't be installed."
A networking error has occurred: Cannot open file (-3001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again.
Try downloading and manually installing the update. Get it here: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/javaformacosx105update2.html
Sometimes the network/Apple's servers get busy and drop the download to Software Update, causing updates to fail.
Very cool, thanks!!
wow wish i knew about this sooner
Yeah that's what I said too, certainly beats doing it manually for those apps that have no way to check for new versions.
I still don't seem to be able to install this Java update (at about 40% complete it hangs), and now my browsers like Firefox and Safari can't display Java applets?
I get the following error message:
The source media you are installing from is damaged. Try installing from a different copy of the source media or contact the manufacturer for a replacement.
have you tried to redownload it from here?
Tried that as well but it doesn't work either...
I've installed this update at least 5 times, but it still comes up in my software update everytime it runs, so i'm guessing it never really installs. If anyone can please help me i would really appreciate it. Thanks.
