hi, i have a little lag in a game, so one friend recommend me to install the last version of have, this http://jdk7.java.net/download.html but how i know if i have installed that version i wrote in the terminal java -version
and i get this
build 1.6.0_31-b04-415-11M3646)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01-415, mixed mode)

and also i hear that in mac you can´t install the las version, is that true?

I doubt your game lag has anything to do with JDK update. But if you want the latest version - first have you tried running software update and making sure all Apple Java updates are installed? If that's done then you can try downloading jdk7 from Oracle - keep in mind though since it is a preview things may not work as well.

thank you, i have all the updates thats why I'm need to know if i don´t have the last version, the game is minecraft.
And here are the recommendations for less lag.

1. Download the latest Java 7 builds from here: http://download.java.net/jdk7/. Minecraft should run much smoother with less lag spikes. It really helps.
2. Set the Java process to higher priority
3. Set "Limit framerate" to Max FPS. The limiter is so implemented that it always decreases the FPS.
4. Update LWJGL from here.
5. Lauch Minecraft with less memory (yes, really). It needs maximum 256 MB and runs fine on all settings with the default texture pack. By default java allocates too much memory (1GB?) which may get swapped to disk and the overall performance may suffer a lot. To start Minecraft with less memory:

So do you think that is not nesesarry download that version?
