Just bought a pair yesterday and one ear turns on and off intermittently. It will play through both, then one will go out. Is the unit defective or is this a connection issue with the phone? Does the voice play through both headphones? The "Power On", "Power Off" etc?

Those sound defective yes. Voice plays through both yes.

Mine have developed a rather concerning issue. Virtually overnight, my battery has gone from lasting at least 4/5 hours per charge to just over an hour per charge! Not all that excited with this latest development!!

I took them back. The left ear volume would work on a full charge, then after 2 minutes of use, the sound would just fade out. Terrible. Looks like I'm stuck with wires again.

Would you buy these again? I see you have had them for over 3 years. I am looking to buy a decent workout headphone as all the $20 pair keep breaking in less than 6 months, usually at the wired connection to the audio jack.

I would yes! They not without their nuances but generally I have been very happy with them. The X2, which replace the Bluebuds, are apparently an improvement in most departments (albeit marginal).

Thanks. I see that Amazon has the white/black version for $90 right now. So I am thinking about getting those. I like the thought of buying the X2 because they are a newer model, but if the they aren't that much better than the older model I can see saving that $100. Thanks again.

I've had mine over a year now and they've worked well. I use it mainly for trail running. I was concerned of the battery life.. apparently I'm not running that much for that to become an issue. About 2 hours of trail running and Bluebuds X still has a lot of juice. I end up only wearing one earbud at a time though so I can hear the environment (you know in case there's a rattler close to me).

It took two weeks for them to respond, but finally have a RMA number and will be sending them back tomorrow. Quote "The problem you're having sounds like a sweat issue and we have upgraded the water repelling nano protection on the headsets so I guarantee you will have no problems in the future with the replacements." I'm happy that they are going to make it right. I love these headphones when they are working as they should. Looking forward to the replacements. Is your replacement pair still working good?

man its been two years i had these (jaybird's bluebuds) and earlier they were smooth but then
1. the music started pausing on its own
2. the earphones started disconnecting on their own
3. the controls on the earphones stopped working (worked my way around it by charging it everytime b4 connecting)
4. the earphones reset itself somehow and now i cant connect my phone to it
(i stayed up all night to reset my sleep cycle and was about to go to the gym when this happened)

contacted jaybirds team and in their words " after careful reviewing" they told me they cant help me
it is fair enough for them to say that they wont replace the earphones but a little technical support would have been much appreciated. I dont usually buy such expensive earphones.
anyways if anyone has some tips for me to reset my earphones pls drop a line

I have been watching various threads as I am in the market for a better set of earbuds or headphones. Following this thread on Jaybirds and then going back and looking at actual user reviews (Amazon), these do not seem one of the better choices out there. From what I am reading, a lot of these are DOA, inconsistent sound in earbuds, crackling noises, etc. Especially alarming is the amount of responses saying customer service is not very good. It appears some have had goof fortune with the company and quite a few others are left hanging. Based on what I have been reading, none of the Jaybird product line seems to be designed for long term use at the price point they are charging. Maybe it is just me, but I would pass for another product line.
