iPad JB ipad iOs 6 question

I have the ipad 3 JB on 5.1.1. This is my first time JB. What the steps to upgrade to the latest OS? I know there is a wait for the untethered JB for iOs 6 to come out. So i guess I have to wait for that. What happens that comes out? is the upgrade done through absinthe? Thanks
