Apple TV JB Timescales?

Having never owned an ATV before of JB one ...

What was the time scale between 4.4.4 being released and subsequently jailbroken?

I want to buy an ATV3 (1080 is important to me). BUt without a JB its pretty much a paperweight as i want Plex on it.
