Does anyone own these speakers? I've been looking at reviews and they seem pretty mixed, so if you guys could give me your opinions it would be appreciated.:D

I don't want to spend over £100, and I don't want them to leave a huge footprint, as my desk isn't that big. They seem like the perfect solution, but if you have an alternative please post!

They are good speakers for the money, my girlfrind has a set, they also look funky. In fact you have to go a long way to find something that sits as well next to a mac.

I bought some and returned them soon afterwards, greatly disappointed. In that sort of configuration the Soundsticks are far better, as the Creatures simply don't have enough guts. The single tweeters are overwhelmed and you end up with little mid-range and a tinny sound.

I guess it depends on how much of an audiophile you are... I don't use them I output my sound through the optical out to a 5.1 amp but my girlfriend was very happy with them for a long time, even though I've spent some time trying to persuade her to upgrade to something with more ooomph! She has them but would now like something like the BOSE companion 3's :)

these are very durable however soundsticks are a different level altogether - perhaps more professional.. go for sound sticks if budget permits if the 'finest detail matter' otherwise i would stick to Creature II

    another vote for the soundsticks.

Mine were delivered yesterday and my god they are awesome.

I was about to get the JBL creatures, but i demoed the jbl spyros at my local best buy. They look to be very similar, differing only in terms of the style. The sound was a bit tiny even for my tastes, as i don't like stuff that is too bass heavy.

I have found an almost perfect combination with the soundsticks. Get them from amazon for $120 shipped

I haven't used the Creature II speakers from JBL, but all of their other computer speakers I have used are really good.

I too have heard very mixed reviews but decided to invest in a set of Creatures last summer. I listen to all types of music and watch DVDs and I am pretty satisfied with the Creatures overall but I'm no audiophile.

    What I like:
    -The price
    -The quirky design
-Color choices (silver, black, white and red I believe)
-Decent sound for such small satellites
    -Simple to setup
    -Small size

    What I don't like:
-Touch volume buttons (In retrospect I'd rather have a knob
    -No aux input for headphones

I have these speakers and find them adequate, even pretty good for the money. Something no one has mentioned is the size of the room in which you plan to use them; I recently moved from a high-ceilinged 18th-century apartment with hardwoods to a 21st-century, low-ceilinged joint that is smaller and has tile floors, and the speakers sound WAY better. Sure you can always get better speakers for more money, but for the price (I think I paid 90 bucks a couple years ago in the US), in the right room, they're a pretty good buy, and they look great without taking up much space.

Oh yeah, and I agree with the complaint about the touch-volume control; it's mildly annoying. I just leave it at about 80% power and adjust the volume with the remote or the keyboard.

And the blue lights are cool, if you like that sort of thrill:cool:.

I'm pleased with mine. Got a very good deal via ebay (harmonaudio - jbl factory outlet) for factory refurbished - they look perfect to me and more than satisfactory for my audio needs.
