Jedi Academy problems

I'm having major trouble with this game. I've installed it following all the instructions and it won't open either multiplayer or single player. When I do try to open them, the image appears at the bottom nothing happens for a while then I get a weird noise followed by the app closing and an error message appearing.

Does anyone know whats going on?

What type of computer/version of OS X are you using?

Have you downloaded all the updates?

Im using Leopard... I keep all my software updated. When I read the comment I did a update search and nothing came up. Its on a macbook but as far as I'm aware the tech specs for the game are all compatible, but if I'm wrong then please let me know.

There are a couple of issues here.

One, have you downloaded a universal binary patch? (All MacBooks are intel, right?)

Two, if you have downloaded a patch, is it official or unsupported?

Look at the comments. 1.01e and 1.01f are both unsupported by Aspyr and have been known to mess up the game.

Three, is the CD in good condition? I had an old copy of Jedi Knight 2, and the CD had so many scratches I had to try several installs before it would actually run on my computer.
