TV prankster Jeremy Beadle has died at the age of 59, after being admitted to hospital last week suffering from pneumonia.

He'd presented a variety of shows during his 80s hey-day, but was most famous for his practical jokes pulled on unsuspecting members of the public.

That name sounds vaguely familiar. Seems as though I remember an infomercial from the 90s selling a video with some of his best pranks.

Wonder if God will give him a Gotcha...
He was a character, but until today, I never knew just how much fundraising the guy did. He helped raise millions of pounds. Old school prank tv, and some entertaining shows. I imagine he'll be well remembered.

The only thing I remember about him was the UFO prank, where he conned an old lady into thinking an alien had landed outside. After asking "what do you want" the woman then proceeded to ask- "would you like a cup of tea?"

I thought Gotchas were from Noel Edmunds

Too young.
Was he on Radio One way back?
Remember listening to him on a radio station when I was living in London.
