lol what do you smell?
I know it sounds strange about my apple care, and that’s because it is!
I’ll ask them later on the phone when purchasing the one for my X.
I swear I never asked them to cancel anything!

The case wasn’t poorly installed, it was just obviously a bad choice of a case by chimpcase.de !

I think @danilko1 is saying that it looks from the photos like there is some kind of adhesive film on the back of your phone, like a screen protector on the back, so to speak.

I don’t know what happend! But I had apple care on it, i even had them repair a broken screen once. But when I checked now, apple care didn’t show up anymore. And then I found in my PayPal account a couple of months ago there was an incoming transaction from Apple over the amount of Apple care plus. !!!???

I’ll have to call and ask, that is just so weird.

Can you guys stop the insurance fraud thing already? It’s not even particularly funny.
Even if I would send it to Apple (wich I won’t do obviously anymore) it would still be on their end to decide if they would replace it or not.

Will do so.

Saying something is broken when the only thing wrong is cosmetic to get a replacement non scratched unit is fraud.

Even if you do not like it being called so.

Calm down, I sold it to a happy customer without commuting any fraud ;)

How would this be fraud anyway when we pay for AppleCare+ to protect against “accidental damage”?? We accidentally broke the phone, so what it isn’t fraud because Apple covers accidental damage for 2 claims. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Also I was thinking this same situation. My 7+ is scratched just like yours and has been in a case the whole time. The jet black color looks nice but is total crap, and scratches way easy.

OP how much did you sell it for if you don’t mind me asking? Looking to sell mine very soon as well.

I was curious about this too. Mine has a real issue though, lightning cable will pop out at time so hoping they just replace it, sick of it not charging because of this issue. Good luck.

One of my iPhones had this problem. It was caused by lint buildup from my pocket. Have you tried scraping out the lightning port with a paper clip or toothpick?

Because OP explicitly stated he wouldn't be adding accidental damage. He edited it afterwards but originally mentioned messing the phone up more on purpose.

You move fraud from home to work? Otherwise what you mean is you didn’t commit fraud.

lol calm down? I only said what was factually obvious being as you didn’t seem to think that returning a phone for a defect when all that’s wrong with it is paint is a misrepresentation of what was actually going on at the time.
