The rep told me that she will try to get me in the 9/16 slot but she said that any ordered placed for the JB+ is going to be automatically back ordered. Guess Apple had already informed them that the JB phones were already limited in supply.

I'm sure there is a reason why that I can't fathom but wouldn't it have been better customer relations to just announce that due to the refined processing necessary to create Jet Black, it would be available in October. I see no way you pre-sell something you know doesn't exist and not tell them. This is just one's man's opinion.

So it's starting to look like all 4 carriers are waiting till the last week of sept-early october for first dibs shipping.. while all these Apple store customers are posting about their phone being stuck in China but with a tracking number lol

I am guessing that our phones of the same configuration are on the same flights. We just aren't getting tracking information because the carriers still have to sort and ship them.
