Jetdrive Lite - Jetdrive Toolbox software

Is anyone using a Jetdrive Lite with their MacBook Pro? I was reading that there can be a problem with the Jetdrive remounting after the computer has been put into standby mode, and that the Jetdrive Toolbox software can prevent this problem. I've also read that with earlier versions of El Cap (that was my understanding) that even the software didn't help.

So... is anyone using a Jetdrive Lite WITHOUT bothering with Jetdrive Toolbox? And if so, is there any remount issues?

And... anyone that needed to use the Jetdrive Toolbox because of remounting issues, does the Jetdrive Toolbox work as expected?

I ask because I hate installing unnecessary utilities on my Mac. Thanks.

I have been running these in my 13" and 15" for quite some time. No software and never so much as a hiccup. Mounts on every restart and reasonably fast.

Yeah, I just got my 128GB Jetdrive today and I've done some tests letting it sleep and I haven't had any mounting issues. I'll be steering clear of that Toolbox software unless I discover a problem.

This is such an awesome solution, one I didn't previously know about when I ordered my 256GB equipped rMBP. This allows me to take my iTunes library and photos off my main SSD freeing up at least 75GB!

I have had some mounting issues in the past on my 64GB Jetdrive on my 2013 MBA, but not for a while now (maybe since El Capitan upgrade?). I don't use any extra software.

This is NOT aplug for Transcend as I got issues from day1. The card is easy to install but it wasn't long before I noticed it would not remount after "sleep". The tool they supply to supposedly allow the MBA to goto sleep doesn't work and there is often a warning to say that the card has been unmounted. It may be ok on MBP but NOT MBA. I have to reboot all the time. But that said I use an external monitor and keep MBA lid closed and just wake with mouse and bang NO transcend lite as it has mysteriously unmounted but if the lid to MBA is open it doesn't seem to happen???? There is a confusing picture out there for these cards as I see that many people seem to have this issue. I use the latest OS Catalina 15.3 on MBA 2013 model

First, this thread is 3 years old.

Second, this the MacBook Pro forum and MBP since 2016 have not had SD Card slots. Perhaps you would get more results asking your question in the MBA forums

I've found that I have this problem using the JetDrive Lite 330 1TB on my 2021 MacBook Pro 16". I installed the JetDrive Toolbox following a recommendation on Reddit but the app fails to launch after installation. It would be nice if anyone reading this thread who has a resolution could share it!

I'm running Ventura 13.1.
